SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, EUREF AG AND ALLORA IMMOBILIEN
PRESENT IMPACT TO EMULATE

Cannes, March 12, 2025

Schneider Electric, Berlin-based EUREF AG and Viennese real estate developer allora Immobilien are showcasing best practice insights into sustainability solutions in the real estate industry and the positive impact of smart neighborhood developments on the urban environment at the international real estate trade fair MIPIM.

They will do this by presenting two company districts, one of which is currently being completed and a second of which is about to start construction. And call for imitation! The innovation location EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf and the Zukunftsanker, a project by allora Immobilien in Vienna, are beacon projects for sustainability in location development.

With 80,000 square meters of office and event space, the EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf is an international showcase for the energy transition. From 2025, 4,000 employees from established companies, start-ups, science and research will be working here on the topics of energy, mobility and sustainability. The campus focuses on energy-efficient construction, sustainable energy sources and an intelligent energy and mobility concept that meets the climate protection goals of the city and state.

The core idea behind the EUREF-Campus’s energy supply is the combination of various renewable and environmentally friendly energy sources. A modern energy center from Stadtwerke Düsseldorf with automation technology from Schneider Electric makes the EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf a showcase project. Water from a nearby quarry pond is used for regenerative heat generation. A heat pump is used to bring a circuit to the desired temperature and the heat (or cold) is distributed throughout the building via concrete core activation.

Karin Teichmann, Spokesperson of EUREF AG: “Our location concept is designed for innovation communities focused on the energy transition. Our properties are strategically planned and built sustainably – using digitalization to systematically decarbonise. Together with Stadtwerke Düsseldorf, the EUREF-Campus is committed to sustainable urban development and supports a climate-neutral state capital by 2035.”

The second project presented, the Net-Zero neighbourhood project “Zukunftsanker” on the site of a former large bakery in Vienna, also focuses on the decarbonization of urban development. Elements of the planning include emission-free energy procurement and innovative mobility management.

Conceived by project initiator allora Immobilien, a competence center for sustainable urban redevelopment is to be created together with other partners by 2033.

The Future Anchor area is located in the middle of major urban renewal projects. Historic suburban locations like this have developed into potential sites. The Future Anchor is one of the last central land reserves of this dimension and has been officially designated by the City of Vienna as a flagship project of the Vienna Business and Innovation Strategy in the area of “smart solutions for the urban living space of the 21st century”.

Peter Ulm, Managing Director of allora Immobilien: “The Net-Zero-Quartier Zukunftsanker will be a place for climate ambitious companies that want to shape the future together with numerous project participants such as Schneider Electric. It will consist of a closely interwoven network of companies, organizations, research institutions and other stakeholders who want to actively shape the cities’ path to climate neutrality. Schneider Electric’s experience in developing the EUREF-Campus is a great incentive for us.”

Stefan Klepzig, Strategic Sales Director, Schneider Electric: “Schneider Electric is a leader in the digital transformation of energy supply and sustainable energy management in the real estate industry. As an active part of the EUREF community, we are relocating our German headquarters to the campus in Düsseldorf, also to help create a showcase for sustainable building development. As an office user, Schneider Electric will only locate its employees in Net Zero environments.”

Schneider Electric regularly receives top marks from leading rating agencies when it comes to ESG. For example, the company was named the most sustainable company out of 500 companies from 30 countries by TIME Magazine and Statista 2024. Schneider Electric also took first place in the Corporate Knights Most Sustainable Companies Rating in 2025. The award reflects the technology group’s ambitious emissions targets: Schneider Electric aims to be climate-neutral by 2025 and enable its customers to operate sustainably in line with the Paris Climate Agreement and the European Green Deal.

Schneider Electric Sustainability Impact Award: Schneider Electric also presents its annual sustainability award on the fringes of the international real estate trade fair MIPIM in Cannes. The 2025 recipient is the EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf innovation location. The innovative corporate quarter at Düsseldorf Airport achieves top scores in the sustainability indicators. The Schneider Electric Sustainability Impact Award was created in 2022.
