Award-winning sustainability – Schneider Electric Sustainability Impact Award goes to the EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf

On Monday, Mike Hughes, new Zone President for Schneider Electric DACH, together with Iris Bruckhaus, Vice President Human Resources at Schneider Electric DACH, presented the Schneider Electric Sustainability Impact Award to EUREF Board Member Reinhard Müller. The award ceremony took place against the impressive backdrop of the EUREF dome on the EUREF Campus Düsseldorf. This is now also the new headquarters of Schneider Electric in Germany.

The award is part of Schneider Electric’s ongoing initiative to empower its partners, customers and suppliers to become more sustainable and to recognize significant achievements on the road to net zero. Participants are carefully evaluated on how they implement energy, digital and automation solutions in their operations, reduce energy consumption, increase operational efficiency and promote the circular economy throughout the value chain.

The EUREF-Campus in Düsseldorf focuses on energy-efficient buildings, renewable energies such as solar energy and seawater use as well as smart technologies to optimize energy consumption. The campus is a real-world laboratory for innovations in the fields of energy, mobility and sustainability. Companies and degree courses on these topics promote discourse in this area. The energy concept combines renewable energies, intelligent energy management and measures such as heat storage through the use of seawater in order to operate the campus in a CO₂-neutral way.

As the new anchor tenant and partner of the EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf, Iris Bruckhaus and Mike Hughes symbolically received “bread, salt and wine” on behalf of Schneider Electric.
