News from the EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf – August 2024

Last year, the EUREF dome underwent an impressive transformation when it found its new home on the EUREF-Campus in Düsseldorf. The construction of the dome, consisting of around 3,000 individual parts, was a masterstroke. Piece by piece, it was lifted into place by a crane. This impressive reconstruction was captured on film; the video is available here.

A lot has happened on the campus since then. While the building has continued to grow and windows and roofs have been added, the dome has remained the absolute eye-catcher for all visitors to the construction site. Last week, the technical team from the EUREF Campus in Berlin made significant progress: 120 lamps, 18 loudspeakers and a large LED wall were installed and successfully tested. The results are impressive and we are looking forward to the first #Eventsofthefuture at the EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf 💚.

Further progress was made on the dome last month. In addition to the installation of the technology, the screed was poured in the foyer, which will serve as the basis for the final floor covering. In addition, the impressive plant troughs for the interior greenery have already been filled with granulate so that the first plants can soon move into the campus.

The scaffolding in courtyard 2 has been dismantled in the last few days and is now being reassembled in the second construction phase. This will enable the windows to be installed soon and further work to be carried out on the interior facade. Work is also being carried out on the exterior: Construction is underway around the future main entrance and painting work on the exterior façade is progressing. The east side, which faces the Lichtenbroicher Baggersee, will soon shine in new splendor.

New drone shots were taken last week to document the construction progress. Here you will find some impressive pictures, as well as a short “before and after” video.
