Cannes, 15 March 2023. At MIPIM, in the presence of Dr Stephan Keller, Lord Mayor of Düsseldorf, Dr Hinrich Holm, Chairman of the Board of Investitionsbank Berlin, Karin Teichmann, Spokesperson of the Board of EUREF AG, presented the community concept of the EUREF campuses in Düsseldorf and Berlin as holistically sustainable future locations. Along with Philippe Delorme, Executive VP Europe Operations Schneider Electric, and Jean-Marc Zola, Senior VP Digital Energy Division Schneider Electric, Karin Teichmann showed how the German government’s carbon emission targets
for 2045 can be met from the outset through intelligent architecture, the use of renewable energy sources, new energy storage systems and the consistent networking of state-of-the-art technology.

Karin Teichmann, Spokesperson of the Board of EUREF AG, sees great innovation potential in the new EUREF campus: “The EUREF campuses in Berlin and Düsseldorf are real beacon projects for energy transition: they not only already meet the German government’s 2045 targets, but also offer energy security through their independence from
coal, oil and gas. In addition to innovations in climate protection technology, environmental protection and mobility, collaborative use is one of the cornerstones of the EUREF campuses in Düsseldorf and Berlin. This is where Schneider Electric and EUREF are pursuing their shared long-
term objective of achieving the fully sustainable operation of real estate.”

and refurbishments to improve energy efficiency have significant potential to reduce global
emissions. The EUREF campuses in Düsseldorf and Berlin show how the entire real estate operation
can become carbon neutral through the use of renewable energies, electromobility, controlled
consumption, flexible energy distribution and energy management.”

The concept is impressive: since August 2021, EUREF AG has been building another real laboratory for the energy and mobility transition in North Rhein-Westphalia – the EUREF Campus Düsseldorf, with a total gross floor area of around 105,000 square metres and 719 parking spaces in an
underground car park. The EUREF Campus Berlin is already a model of success. Innovations in energy, climate protection technology, environmental protection and mobility will be developed, researched and launched in showrooms along the River Rhein. These innovations will also be tested
for practicality on-site when the new campus opens in 2024. Start-ups, companies, associations and scientific institutions will work hand in hand in an area of more than 80,000 square metres. By collaborating with tenants including Schneider Electric GmbH, SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa
GmbH and NRW.Energy4Climate, the state company for energy and climate protection, the objective is to ensure not only the environmentally friendly construction of the campus, but also the fully sustainable operation of the site in the future. This will create a vibrant, exemplary focal
point for energy transition thanks to a hi-tech energy centre integrating the adjacent quarry pond for thermal supply and the use of renewable energies.

The green innovation campus in Düsseldorf is being built in two phases. The first will be ready for occupancy by mid-2024 and the second by mid-2025. The neighbouring Mobility Hub is designed as a testing and start-up platform for new forms of mobility and as a transfer hub for commuters and air
passengers. A highlight will be the planned Skyport, a take-off and landing area for air taxis and delivery drones. Tenants in the Mobility Hub will further develop their mobility concepts and products here and present them in showrooms.

Moreover, the EUREF Campus concept includes an indoor garden, event and function suites which will welcome guests from the worlds of politics, business and science, and offer extensive hospitality with regional cuisine and bistros under the direction of top restauranteur, Cornelia Poletto.

EUREF Campus Berlin: leading location for energy transition
EUREF Campus Berlin is the leading location for energy transition in Germany. More than 150 companies, start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises from business, science and research are located on the 5.5-hectare campus and work with their approximately 5,000 employees on the
topics of the future such as energy management, mobility and climate protection. The latest technologies are developed and their use researched here. As an international showcase for the energy and mobility transition, the EUREF Campus has already been meeting the German government’s 2045 carbon climate targets since 2014. It also plays an important role in the State’s Smart City Strategy. The hospitality concept in the campus also centres around healthy diversity and sustainability. One example is the CORD casual fine dining restaurant under the direction of celebrity chef Thomas Kammeier.

EUREF Campus Hamburg: project start from 2025/26
Following Berlin and Düsseldorf, planning is now underway for a EUREF Campus in the Port of Hamburg, Germany’s largest multi-cargo hub. Construction of the project on around 106,400 square metres in a prominent location opposite the Elbphilharmonie concert hall will commence in
2025/26.
