MIPIM 2022: EUREF and Implenia sign contract for EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf

Contract signed in the presence of Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller

Cannes / Düsseldorf, 15th March 2022. The first sustainability and innovation campus in North Rhein-Westphalia is being built under the direction of Implenia Hochbau GmbH as general contractor (GU). The contract between EUREF AG and Implenia was signed at the MIPIM international real estate trade fair in Cannes on Tuesday by Reinhard Müller, CEO of EUREF AG, and Dr Matthias Jacob, Managing Director of Implenia Hochbau GmbH, in the presence of Dr Stephan Keller, Mayor of the state capital Düsseldorf.

With the EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf, EUREF AG is building another international showcase for the energy and mobility revolution with a total of around 105,000 sq m GFA and 719 parking spaces in an underground car park. After the EUREF-Campus Berlin, this is the second highly specialised innovation campus of its kind in Germany. The volume of the general contractor agreement is around EUR 214 million.

From as early as 2024, the brightest minds in companies, start-ups and scientific institutions will work together on the EUREF-Campus Düsseldorf, researching the topics of energy, mobility, environmental protection and climate protection technology, developing ideas for the future and testing their implementation. Thanks to a hi-tech energy centre and the use of renewable energies, the German Government’s 2045 carbon climate targets are already being met on campus today.

The green innovation campus will be built in two phases, the first of which is scheduled to be ready for occupancy by mid-2024. Tenants will include, NRW.Energy4Climate GmbH, a government agency, Schneider Electric GmbH, SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa GmbH and Klüh Service Management GmbH. According to the general contractor agreement, the second construction phase, the Mobility Hub, is scheduled for completion by mid-2025. It is designed as a testing and start-up platform for new forms of mobility and will also serve as a transfer hub for commuters and passengers. A highlight will be the planned Skyport, a take-off and landing area for air taxis and delivery drones. Tenants in the Mobility Hub will include Inno2Grid, PEM Motion GmbH, H2 Mobility Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG and NEVOMO who will further develop their mobility concepts and products here and present them in showrooms.

The campus concept also includes an indoor garden, event and function areas, for example for guests from politics, business and science, as well as an extensive hospitality offer with regional cuisine and bistros under the direction of top caterer, Cornelia Poletto.
